GetAILearn, the AI education and professional certification platform, today announced the close of a $4.5 million Seed Round. The round was led by Emerge Education, a specialist edtech venture fund, with participation from Impact Engine and several angel investors from the ed-tech and AI industries.
The funding will be deployed across three primary areas: scaling GetAILearn's GPU compute infrastructure to support a growing student population, expanding the platform's industry mentor network from its current 40 practitioners to 150, and accelerating the development of the adaptive learning engine that underpins the platform's industry-leading 92% course completion rate.
Why We Built This
"The AI skills gap is real, and the existing solutions are not solving it," said Michelle Wong, CEO and Co-Founder. "Most online AI courses have completion rates below 15% and pass rates on certification exams that are frankly embarrassing. We knew there had to be a better way — and there is. The combination of real compute labs, adaptive personalization, and human mentorship changes everything."
GetAILearn was founded in 2023 after Michelle Wong left her role as Head of Learning at Coursera. Having built education programs that reached half a million professionals, she identified the specific gaps that prevented most online learners from achieving professional certification outcomes: lack of real compute environments, no adaptive feedback, and absence of direct expert access.
The Numbers Tell the Story
In its first 18 months of operation, GetAILearn has trained professionals across 47 countries with a course completion rate of 92% — compared to the industry average of 15% for comparable online programs. The platform's students achieve a 98% pass rate on major AI certifications from AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure.
"What Emerge Education looks for is clear evidence of differentiated outcomes," said Sarah Chen, Principal at Emerge Education. "GetAILearn's completion and pass rate data is unlike anything we have seen in the AI education space. This is a team that genuinely understands how professional adults learn technical skills, and has built a platform optimized for that reality."
What's Next
With this funding, GetAILearn plans to launch two new certification tracks in Q2 2025: a Google Professional Data Engineer prep program and a comprehensive course targeting the newly released AWS Generative AI Specialty certification. The company also plans to expand its enterprise offering, which provides custom AI training programs for organizations deploying AI at scale.
